One More Calm Day...

It's going to be a calm day for the middle part of the workweek. An upper level shortwave will provide cloudy patches today. Otherwise, sunshine will squeeze in and push temperatures to the 50 degree mark.

Rain will arrive from late morning Thursday for the Southern viewing area thru the early afternoon for our more northern viewing area.  Rain will become heavy at times Thursday and Thursday night. Models are showing a different track of the surface low, but I am relying on the GFS and ECMWF in order to nail down the forecast. The steadiest rain should end by midday Friday. The rain will linger the longest over southeastern Mass..  Total rainfall amounts appear to be between 0.5"-1.25" as a general rule of thumb.   There could be some anomalies to those numbers, especially if the NAM proves correct and the low takes a more westerly track.

A cold, more December-like feel arrives this weekend.

***Daylight Saving Time ends 2am this Sunday. Turn your clocks BACK one hour.

Atlantic Tropical Update:  T.S. Tomas has potential of re-strengtheing into a hurricane before making landfall near Cuba/Haiti late Friday night.
