One Last Thing: Rubbish To Runway Show Makes Recycling Fashionable
BOSTON (CBS) -An event Saturday will remind you how much you throw away on a daily basis and hopefully, make it fashionable to recycle.
Each year in Massachusetts, over 260,000 tons of textiles are disposed of in incinerators or landfills when 95% of this material could have been recycled, and approximately only 15% of households are recycling.
At the Rubbish To Runway Fashion show, household trash will turn into glamorous fashion statements to promote recycling.
The show takes place Saturday in Newburyport and proceeds go toward non-profit Long Way Home. Their mission is to build sufficient schools that promote education, employment and environmental stewardship in Guatemala.
