One Last Thing: 14-Year-Old Methuen Boy Heads To Paralympics
METHUEN (CBS) - There is a 14-year-old boy who runs like the wind and is now competing against people 10 years old than him.
What makes him truly amazing is he only has one leg.
Brendan Driscoll of Methuen lost his leg when he was five because of a congenital anomaly.
He got a custom made running prosthetic leg, and it seems to agree with him.
He holds the U.S. record for his age group in the 100 meter and 200 meter races.
On Thursday, he left for Indiana to compete in the U.S. Paralympics trials.
He's possibly the youngest competitor to do so.
What an inspiration.
