One Dead, Two Injured In Falmouth Plane Crash
FALMOUTH (CBS) – Emergency crews were on the scene of a small plane crash in Falmouth Saturday.
Falmouth Dept. Fire Chief Glen Rogers confirmed the plane went down right near the Falmouth Air Park shortly after 11 a.m. and burst into flames.
The plane crashed off to the side of the runway, in between two houses.

The FAA initially said the plane took off from the airstrip and had circled around to return. Officials later said the plane was coming from Connecticut.
One person was killed in the crash. State Police said two passengers suffered severe burns and were being taken by Medflight to Boston hospitals.
Falmouth's Acting Fire Chief Mark Sullivan said, with houses nearby, the situation could have been even worse.
It's fortunate it did not land in one of the houses. It landed in the shrubbery between two homes," Acting Chief Sullivan said.
Bruce Gecks was sitting in his house next to the air strip and heard the plane go down.
"The pilot throttled back, and then put it on full throttle. Then we heard a big bang after that. (We) came running out," Gecks said. My father, who's 84 was already at the scene and was calling for a hose. So I grabbed a hose and ran over."
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
