One Killed In Fire At Saugus Home
SAUGUS (CBS) – One man was killed and one firefighter was injured in a blaze at a home in Saugus on Sunday morning.
The fire started at around 5:30 a.m. at the three-story house on Lincoln Avenue.
Pat Hussey, who owns the home, made it out safely. When she heard the smoke detector, she ran up to the third floor to check on her tenant, 50-year-old Steve Clain.
"I kept saying, 'Steve! Steve! Wake up!' I tried to throw myself against the door, to no avail," said Hussey.

Firefighters rescued Clain, but he was pronounced dead a short time later at an area hospital.
One firefighter received minor injuries to his shoulder.
Fire officials said hydrants outside the home had been shoveled out, which made fighting the blaze much easier.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
