Once in a Blue Moon

Happy August!  Two Full moons will occur this month, which is rather rare.

The weather will be slightly unsettled for the remainder of the week. However, most neighborhoods will be dry the entire/majority of the time.

Today will allow for emerging sunshine as we will be sandwiched in between two different systems.  Then, there will be a risk of scattered showers and storms , especially north and west of Boston. Highs will be in the lower and middle 80s...70s Cape Cod/Islands.  Today's beach and boating forecast is depicting choppy conditions with seas reaching 6 feet in some areas along with a moderate risk of rip currents. Please be safe!

Tonight is the Full 'Sturgeon' Moon. A second full moon will occur the last day of August, making it a 'blue' moon.

Thursday and Friday will be days filled with plentiful sunshine, higher dewpoints, and a slight chance of an isolated afternoon storm. The chance of storms is sue to the jetstream flow in addition to a few areas of cool air aloft which could trigger a storm or two during the heat of the day.  Highs will be in the upper 80s on Thursday to the lower 90s on Friday!

This weekend will be be a hot and humid one! Temperatures will be near 90F on both Saturday and Sunday.  There will be a slim chance of a shower or storm on Saturday with a front rebounding northward. According to the GFSx, there is a better chance of scattered strong storms on Sunday evening as a cold front nears Southern New England.  The EURO is trending with a slower solution in terms of the eastward progression of the cold front.  Like the GFSx, the EURO shows a chance of a few showers and storms on Saturday as the front moves northward.  However, it staves off the rain until Monday with the cold front.
