Officials: Inmate's Suspicious Letter Delayed Gribble Trial

NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - Investigators say a New Hampshire inmate serving a life sentence sent an envelope containing suspicious powder to the superior court in Nashua.

Officials say the envelope was found on Wednesday and led to the evacuation of parts of the Hillsborough County Superior Court building. The sender claimed that the powder was anthrax, but tests showed that the powder did not contain anything hazardous.

The inmate's name has not been released because the investigation is ongoing.

The incident caused a brief delay in courthouse trials, including the Christopher Gribble insanity trial.
