Ochocinco, McCourty, Chung All Out For Patriots
BOSTON (CBS) - Receiver Chad Ochocinco, corner Devin McCourty and safety Patrick Chung are all out for the New England Patriots for their game against the Eagles in Philadelphia.
Ochocinco missed his first practice of the season on Friday with a hamstring injury, and did not make the trip to Philly.
His absence will require receivers Taylor Price, Julian Edelman and even special teams captain Matthew Slater to pick things up. Price could be a good pick to have a good game; he's wanted this opportunity and now it's here.
Chung is missing his third straight game with a foot injury, with McCourty missing his second with a shoulder injury. This will put a lot of strain on the New England secondary, with James Ihedigbo and Sterling Moore likely getting the start with Sergio Brown coming off the bench.
Chung practiced all week, and should be ready to go next week against the Colts.
The Patriots are also without linebackers Brandon Spikes and Dane Fletcher, who were ruled out on Friday. Center Dan Connolly is also inactive with a groin injury.
Third quarterback Ryan Mallett is also inactive for Sunday's game.
Philadelphia Eagles corner Nnamdi Asomugha is active for the game, and will try to start after being carted off the practice field on Thursday with a knee injury.
