Number of Children with Autism on the Rise
April 12, 2014
According to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) continues to increase at an alarming rate. Back in 2006, 1 out of 110 children were diagnosed with ASD. In 2008, it was 1 out of 88 and the latest news is that 1 out of 68 children are now being diagnosed with ASD. Since April is National Autism Awareness Month, on this edition of Centro, we decided to do a special segment shedding some light on this important topic. WBZ's Yadires Nova-Salcedo talks with Maribel Rueda, Latino Liaison for the non-profit organization Autism Speaks in Massachusetts. Tune in!
