Now the Weekend...

It was an up and down week but finished very strong and that momentum will roll into Father's Day weekend.  High pressure remains centered to our north this is in a great spot keeping all wet weather away for many days.  It will also keep the heat out of here through the weekend which is gathering and growing in the center of the country.  With the high to our north persistent onshore winds will keep the marine air flowing in so temps will be tempered at the coast especially so look for highs in the 65-70 degree range there.  Inland, father from the edge of the water, temps won't be influenced as much and will climb into the 70s.  This is, in my mind, ideal for outdoor activities...not too hot, very low humidity and plenty of sunshine.  Now the one caveat is that the persistent onshore wind will increase the low level moisture and the deeper we go into the weekend the better chance we have at seeing clumps of coastal clouds especially over the Cape and Islands.  In fact, I see them forming late Saturday night and takeing some time to burn off on Sunday morning before the sun takes over again for the remainder of the day.

This will happen again on Monday but by Tuesday, that high will start to slide south into more of a Summer position and SW winds will begin to pump in mid-Summer heat.  Interior New England should easily see 90 degrees Wednesday and Thursday and if we can get that heat in here fast enough on Tuesday some inland towns may see a heat wave.  Along the coast it will be a more difficult feat but there is a good chance it happens on Wednesday along the coastline as well.

To all Dads, Happy Father's Day!
