Not Bad...

And the trend continues to get better with even a little more sunshine today and slightly warmer temperatures because of it.  Of course with the warmer surface air and the colder mid-level air scattered downpours developed.  A few grew into thunderstorms with torrential rain.  I expect the pattern to be identical over the next two days but with even more and longer intervals of sunshine we should see taller tops on these growing cumulus and therefore more showers will convert to thunderstorms capable of heavy rain and small hail.

Over the weekend we should be in developing offshore flow behind a shortwave and clouds will erode to sunshine and warmer temps...closer to 80 inland and in the 70s at the coast.  Very warm air will lie just to our SW but will have a tough time getting into New England with shortwaves weakening the ridging here.  In fact, an energetic shortwave will be sliding through Saturday night and Sunday morning and this will lead to wet weather during that time.  Temps will be held down too...we are looking at 70-75 with the air drying out for the afternoon on Sunday and hopefully we'll get into some sun too.

High pressure at the surface will replace the departing weak surface wave induced by the mid level shortwave early next week and we'll see a few sunny days with close to 80 and even higher for some!
