On Monday, rocks and boulders could be seen strewn all over the sand, chunks of seawall torn out and orange cones warned curious beach goers of dangerous footing.
"The sand covered it originally," one resident told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karen Twomney.
Locals say the beach was hit hard.
"It's the biggest one I've seen since we've been here for 15 years," one woman said. "I've never seen it do this kind of damage before."
