A 16-year-old girl called 911 Tuesday just before 1 p.m. to report that someone had broken in her door.
She took the phone and hid in the basement.
"Please help me," the girl told the dispatcher who kept her on the line until officers arrived.
"I'm really scared," the teen said.
"You're going to be ok," dispatcher Joseph Castellano reassured her.
"(Officers are) right on the street they'll be there in one minute."
Norfolk Patrolman Eric Van Ness was on a detail nearby and was the first to arrive at the house.
"Officer Van Ness was checking the rear of the home when he confronted two subjects who were exiting the rear of the home; he was able to hold the subjects at gunpoint on a rear second story deck," police said in a statement.
Michael Couto, 45, of New Bedford and Chelsea Smith, 21, of Mashpee were arrested.
Police said they found a pillowcase nearby filled with jewelry.
Couto and Smith are also suspects in two other burglaries in Norfolk Tuesday.
They now face multiple felony charges, including breaking and entering, larceny, and malicious destruction.
