No Ray Thursday, But Others Could Return
BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics will not have Ray Allen for Thursday night's game in Orlando against the Magic, but there is a chance some of the other walking wounded could return.
Forward Mickael Pietrus, guard Keyon Dooling and center Chris Wilcox all returned to practice on Wednesday in Florida, according to the team, and were full participants.
Pietrus sat out Monday's game against the Magic after his shoulder flared up Sunday against the Wizards, but hopes to return Thursday. Dooling has missed the last seven games with a knee injury, with Wilcox out the last six with a left calf injury.
Point guard Rajon Rondo and center Jermaine O'Neal participated, but only in non-contact drills. Rondo has missed the last three games after falling awkwardly on his right wrist, but after lobbying to play on Monday, could see the court for Thursday night's game.
All five players will be game-time decisions Thursday night as the Celtics close out a home-and-home series with the Magic.
Guard Ray Allen, who missed Monday's game with a sore left ankle, did not travel with the team as his wife is expected to give birth soon, and will not play Thursday.
The Celtics return home Friday night to play the Indiana Pacers at the TD Garden.
