No PA At Fenway On Thursday In Memory Of Carl Beane
BOSTON (CBS) - It will be a quiet night at Fenway Park Thursday night.
In memory of Carl Beane, the Fenway Park announcer who passed away Wednesday, the PA mic at the ballpark will be silent Thursday night as the Red Sox open a four-game series against the Cleveland Indians.
Beane, 59, had been the "Voice of Fenway Park" since 2003. He died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack while driving his car in Sturbridge.

Beane, who had covered Boston sports since the early 1970's, said being the voice of Fenway "was the job I was put on earth to do." His voice is known throughout baseball, as he is featured in "The Baseball Experience" at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.
