No Concussion For McQuaid, But Won't Travel With Bruins
BOSTON (CBS) - Adam McQuaid does not have a concussion after taking a hit from behind on Thursday, but the Boston Bruins defenseman will not travel with the team for their two games in New York this weekend.
"His eye is swollen shut as a result of the cut over the eye, but there's no concussion," head coach Claude Julien told the media on Friday. "He'll stay behind in Boston this weekend and we'll see how he's doing Monday."
McQuaid was on the receiving end of a hit from behind in the first period of Thursday night's 3-2 shootout loss to the Capitals, courtesy of Washington's Jason Chimera. He needed assistance off the ice after remaining down for several minutes, and told trainers "he wasn't feeling quite right" after the game.

McQuaid was present at the TD Garden Friday morning for the team picture.
The Bruins will play two games in New York this weekend, with the Islanders on Saturday followed by the Rangers on Sunday. With McQuaid out, and Dennis Seidenberg day-to-day as well with an infection in his left leg, Joe Corvo and Mike Mottau should see increased action on the Bruins' blue line.
