No Change...
Five out of the last six days we've seen measurable rain in Boston and unfortunately with very little change expected in the pattern, we will make it six out of seven. A warmfront remains draped and stalled to our south...this creates a boundary for warm, moist air to ride up and over cooler marine air here in New England. The result is cloudy, cool and wet conditions with persistent mist and drizzle. This process will continue through the night and into tomorrow.
Later in the day, the stationary storm system will finally start moving our way...the area of low pressure will swirl into Southern New England for the afternoon and evening triggering numerous showers and some downpours...another solid soaking is expected with amounts up to a half an inch. The storm system will spin away Thursday night and be gone by Friday morning.
Much drier, westerly winds will take over on Friday and sunshine will come busting through the clouds early providing a very bright finish to the workweek...finally! Temps will also be quite warm...with most looking at highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Big changes arrive over Columbus Day Weekend. A coldfront will be slicing through the Northeast on Saturday...clouds will increase because of it and there will even be the risk of a few brief showers...temps will still be on the mild side in the upper 60s. Saturday night the front will slip through and winds will quickly shift to the north drawing in the coldest air of the season. Along with the chilly air, a storm system is going to ride up along the front spreading a shield of rain through the area that will last almost all day long. Thus, Sunday is looking like a washout with cold rain developing in the morning and not shutting off until Sunday night. Columbus Day will be dry but chilly with highs in the 50s and numerous cumulus clouds developing by midday.
