NJ Investigators Remove Evidence From East Boston Home In Murder Probe

EAST BOSTON (CBS) – Investigators from New Jersey were at the East Boston home of Kashif Parvaiz Saturday gathering more evidence in the murder of his wife.

Parvaiz, 26, and his 27-year-old wife Nazish Noorani were shot Tuesday in Boonton, N.J., while walking with their three-year-old son.

Noorani died, Parvaiz was wounded, but their child was not hurt.

The couple also has a 5-year-old son who was with relatives at the time of the shooting.

WBZ-TV's Alana Gomez reports

Investigators say Parvaiz told police his family had been attacked by a group of men who called them 'terrorists.'

But police became suspicious when Parvaiz's accounts of the attack became inconsistent.

He was arrested along with Antionette Stephen of Billerica.

Both are charged of murder and conspiracy.

Investigators have not explained the extent of their relationship, but noted that Parvaiz met Stephen in Brooklyn before the shooting and discussed a murder plot.

Parvaiz and his wife were in New Jersey visiting relatives.

Parvaiz suffered non-life-threatening wounds in the shooting and is in custody in the hospital.

Stephen is being held without bail in Framingham.

It's not clear when she might be returned to New Jersey.

Investigators have not said yet who pulled the trigger in the shooting.

Nazish Noorani's friends and family have set up a web site to help the couple's two children at www.nazishmemorialfund.org,
