BOSTON (CBS) - College debt has become a very political issue in recent years. Many Democrats have argued that the whole country suffers when the younger generation enters adult life buried in massive debt, while Republicans counter that nobody forced students to attend college and acquire the debt in the first place. President Obama raised some eyebrows when he recently suggested that students should leave college debt-free. But what would a proposal like that actually cost? Noah Berger, president of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center, sits down with Dan to crunch the numbers, and talk about how we could lessen the burden for future college students.
