NightSide - Rich Martin, Director of Social Services at the New England Center for Children
BOSTON (CBS) - A tough week for Newtown, Connecticut and the entire nation, as the funerals and services for the victims of attack began. So many unanswered questions still plague us all as we try to wrap our minds around such a horrible tragedy. The immediate reactionary conversations seemed to focus on gun control, but there are many other issues to discuss as well. We all accept that anybody who is able to commit such a senseless, destructive act must have something seriously wrong with the way they are wired. Rich Martin, Director of Social Services at the New England Center for Children, sits down with Dan to talk about the challenges that face the parents of a mentally ill child and also the resources that are available. The conversation will include the viral blog post, "I am Adam Lanza's Mother," which has stirred both harsh criticism and support at the same time. Hollywood has also had an interesting reaction to the tragedy, with some studios changing marketing campaigns or postponing movie openings in an effort to appear sensitive to the still-raw wounds left from the massacre.
