NightSide - Mary Blake and Dr. Ross Zafonte Discuss Brain Injury
BOSTON (CBS) - It's a scary prospect. One minute you are riding your bike down the street, and the next thing you know, you are lying in a hospital bed with no idea how you got there. Maybe you are unable to talk or understand others. Maybe you are unable to eat or think the way you used to every day. Traumatic brain injuries can completely change a person's life. WBZ's own Mary Blake suffered a TBI last summer, and she sits down with Dan to talk about what she went through on her journey back to a normal life. Her doctor, Dr. Ross Zafonte, is also in studio to talk about the challenges facing a TBI patient.
Mary Blake also wants to remind listeners that the most important thing in helping recovering is occupational and speech therapy. It's not always easy, but it does help.
