Nice Ones...

After seeing several rounds of thunderstorms and enduring some very muggy air, we are very close to the reward of two splendid days in a row to finish up this work week.  The front that will usher in the comfy, clean air lags a bit...i won't get to us until morning.  Out ahead of it, once again the air is very humid and warm and a line of thunderstorms has formed in the Berkshires again.  Thankfully, today heating was limited due to the lack of sunshine and these storms will fall apart close to sunset.  Some of the leftover rain may survive the trip across the State to Boston later this evening.

By morning the winds will have shifted to the west and much drier air will begin to invade the Commonwealth leaving us with some perfect air for the Thursday and Friday.  We are closely watching the remnants of Tropical Storm Beryl but it should slide well south of the Islands keeping the heavy rain associated with it over the water...just some cirrus around tomorrow morning from the cloud shield.

High pressure will slide offshore on Friday setting up a solid seabreeze on Friday keeping temps near 70 at the coast and mid 70s inland.  That same high will continue it's path offshore to be replaced by a slow-moving front on Saturday.  This front will have some deep moisture along with good lift and therefore we are looking at a steady period of rain centered around midday...and lasting several hours...so the weekend starts off wet.  The frontal system will slide out for Sunday but an upper level storm system will be on the move behind it.  So Sunday, while providing lots of sun in the morning will create growing cumulus clouds in the afternoon and an isolated shower or two will be possible by the end of the day...but most of the day dry.

Next week is not looking good at all.  That same upper level system will have no place to go with large downstream blocking with the NAO going significantly negative.  The result will be several days with onshore winds...cloudy, cold and damp conditions...an awful way to start the month of June.
