NH Sen. Jeanne Shaheen Urges Brown To Sign 'People's Pledge'
BOSTON (CBS) --- U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen is talking about her re-election bid for the first time since Scott Brown said he is a possible contender.
Shaheen said she wants Brown to commit to limiting political ads paid for with outside money from becoming part of the race.
"These are funded by third-party groups from outside of the state of New Hampshire who are coming in trying to influence what's going on in our race for the Senate," said Shaheen.
Shaheen was in Manchester on Tuesday speaking with high school students.
On Obamacare, which Brown has been vocal about in his desire to repeal, Shaheen says she has no regrets about supporting the health care law.
"Now there are things we need to fix," said Shaheen. "But I don't think anybody wants to go back to a system where if you had a pre-existing condition you could be denied care."
Neil Levesque, executive director of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics, says if Brown officially enters the race it could be one of the most expensive elections in state history.
"Certainly Scott Brown, with a national reputation coming in the race, has changed the dynamic," said Levesque.
