NH Army National Guard Members Return Home
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) --- Welcome home signs and balloons were all in place Thursday as family and friends were ready to welcome home the members of the 237th Military Police Company.
The 110 soldiers completed a 9-month deployment in Afghanistan.
All are from New England and members of the New Hampshire Army National Guard.
Among the soldiers was Chris Demain of Tewksbury.
Demain was profiled by WBZ-TV last year after his mother Josie entered him in a contest with Dunkin' Donuts to win Patriots AFC Championship tickets.
"I had a bucket list before I left and one was to go to a Pats game. Never thought it would happen but it was just one thing I wanted to do before I left," Demain told WBZ, last year.
And now, Demain is back home, just in time for another Patriots AFC Championship game.
"We completed the mission and got home safe," Demain said. "It's a relief to be back."
It's also a relief for Demain's mother.
"Everyday you worry," she said. "You never know what's happening on a daily basis."
