NFL Twitter Account Hacked, Falsely Tweets Death Of Roger Goodell

By Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- It's wrong to wish death upon another human being. But if you're a Patriots fans and you had to do so, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell might be on your list.

Someone wanted the world to think Goodell's death became a reality and hacked the NFL's Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon, erroneously reporting Goodell's "death." The tweet was quickly deleted, but, this being the internet, will live on forever thanks to screenshots.

The Goodell death tweet became perhaps the briefest death hoax in history, as top NFL reporters (as well as NFL PR man Brian McCarthy) swiftly took to Twitter to confirm that the commissioner is indeed alive.

Here are some golden reactions to the NFL's Twitter kerfuffle.

UPDATE: Goodell tweeted from his own account, @NFLcommish, about the flub. Meaning, an intern tweeted about it pretending to be him. No way Goodell has this much humor in his soul.
