Newton Whole Foods Unveils Braille Labels
NEWTON (CBS) - A grocery store in Newton is breaking new ground when it comes to using Braille labels.
The Newtonville Whole Foods unveiled the new signs on Friday, becoming the second in the U.S. and the first on the East Coast to adopt Braille labels for their blind and visually impaired shoppers.

The idea came from 7-year-old Josh Goldenberg, who's from California.
Goldenberg is blind; and during a trip to his local Whole Foods, he wanted to know why grocery stores didn't have Braille Labels. From there, "The Joshua Project" was born.
Whole Foods said choosing the Newtonville location was a no-brainer because of its proximity to Perkins School for the Blind and the Carroll Center for the Blind.
