Newly Proposed Flight Paths At Logan Not Popular In Dedham
DEDHAM (CBS) - An FAA proposal to change the path of some flights out of Logan Airport has residents of Dedham and surrounding communities worried that the noise will hurt their quality of life.

New air traffic technology that's already in use on most Logan runways would be deployed on the last big runway to send southbound flights immediately south instead of gaining altitude over the ocean.
That would put flights over the Dedham area.
Dedham Town Administrator Bill Keegan has written to the FAA because he's worried that they will suffer the noise and accident risk that other towns currently in the flight path - like South Boston, Quincy and Winthrop - already endure.
"Folks that live in those areas knew that and have known that traffic for years and years," Keegan told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
"For folks who have never seen that kind of traffic over their homes, it would be disruptive."
The FAA says the new flight patterns would save fuel, reduce overall noise and improve safety.
They are taking public comment until February 15th.
