Brady Makes NFL History With Another Big Passing Day
BOSTON (CBS) – Tom Brady picked up right where he left off last Monday night in New England's 35-21 victory on Sunday.
Last Monday in Miami, the Patriots quarterback became one of 11 QBs in NFL history to break the 500 yard mark with a 517 yard performance. On Sunday, he became the first to follow it up with a 400 yard day, tossing for another 423 yards.
Only Drew Brees in 2006 had followed up his 500 yard performance with 300 or more passing yards, before Brady went and one-upped him on Sunday.
Brady's total of 940 yards in the two-game span sets a new NFL record, surpassing Carolina Panthers rookie Cam Newton's record of 854 yards, also set on Sunday.
Newton's record only lasted about two hours.

Brady's 940 yards beat out Matt Cassel's franchise record of 815 passing yards in back-to-back games in November of 2008. It tops Brady's career best of 763 yards he set in September of 2002.
It might be something in the Gillette Stadium water. In his past six regular season starts at home, Brady has thrown for 1,537 yards and tallied 14 touchdowns with no interceptions.

While Brady is racking up the passing yards, he is also moving up on the all-time list. He moved past Jim Kelly on the NFL's all-time passing list, finishing the day with 35,694 career passing yards. Brees is the next targetwith 35,955 career yards, although his total is ever-growing as well.
