2 Children Among Injured In Deadly New Bedford House Fire
NEW BEDFORD (CBS/AP) - A fire in New Bedford killed one person and sent three others to the hospital Saturday morning.
According to New Bedford District Fire Chief David Cooper, the fire started on the second floor of a house on Russell Street around 4 a.m.
Fire Chief Michael Gomes said that the dead man is a 39-year-old resident of the second-floor apartment.
A second man and that man's 8-year-old child both suffered serious burns and were flown by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital.

A fourth victim, a 6-year-old child was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital.
Two additional victims were treated at the scene and released.
Gomes says the fire appears to be accidental, but authorities are investigating.
