Neighbors Helping Each Other Clean Up From Tornadoes
SPRINGFIELD (CBS) -- As people continue to clean up in the central and western Massachusetts towns hit hard by Wednesday's tornadoes, there's a lot of over-the-fence help. There's also a lot of across-the-state help.
Steve Brooks went to Springfield with about six ambassadors from the Downtown Boston Improvement District. He said they wanted to go and help in any way they could. They've been working with rakes and chainsaws to make that happen.
"We're just here to lend a helping hand, and help them clean up and get back on their feet," Brooks said. "Even though this is a little different type of work, it feels good to help them out and clean up the city. If anything ever happened in Boston we hope people would come up and help us out there."

In Monson, the church may be missing its steeple, but inside people can get food, water and take a rest as they continue cleaning up.

Sean Lamb was one of those neighbors on Friday morning when he was cutting a tree off a friend's property.

"We're doing it to kind of help the town clean things up, to get the veins pumping again and get things back in order," said Lamb. "At least get life flowing through Monson again."
