Nearly a Record...

We came within three degrees of the record high for Boston today...68 was the high and the record was 71 set in 1993.  Once again tomorrow will be another very warm day with temps again climbing into the 60s but tomorrow won't be as nice...a lot more cloud cover will be present and there will be some scattered showers along a weak coldfront tomorrow afternoon.  Along the front, after it passes by tomorrow night, a wave of low pressure will develop and focus moisture in Southern New England on Wednesday leading to periods of rain especially for points south.  Once this rain departs, that will effectively open the gates for cold air to come pouring in for the second half of the week.  In fact, Friday will be the coldest day of the month with a daytime high of only 45 degrees.  The cold  has had a very tough time establishing itself  this month and everytime cold air moves in it gets shoved out by a surge of warmth and the cold blast later this week is no exception.  By the weekend, the warmth will be making a comeback and high will go from the 50s on Saturday to 60s on Sunday.  This has been one incredible month.  So amazing that the cherry trees have been fooled into thinking it's Spring!  I spotted these blossoms on my way into work today!
