Near-Normal Temps Stick Around

With average highs near 50F and average lows near 35F, we are not that far off-track. However, last week's anomalous conditions led us into a false sense of reality as high temperatures were shattering records 'left-and-right'!

It's freezing...literally! Everyone has fallen below the freezing mark this morning.  Thankfully, the sun will be shining today as high temps run below normal in the lower and middle 40s. Northwest winds will remain gusty throughout the day and begin to calm down this evening. With the very dry conditions, low relative humidity, and 'feisty' winds, there is an elevated risk of brush fires. So, there is a RED FLAG WARNING in effect from late this morning through this evening.

Clouds will take over the sky tonight, and there will be a slight chance of a spot shower or snowflake early Wednesday morning, mainly north and west of Boston.   Overnight lows will be in the middle 20s and lower 30s. Hence, the 'burbs have the biggest threat of dropping below freezing. Cover your plants or bring them indoors if possible.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with a few showers. Winds will become breezy from the south-southwest, and high temperatures will be more seasonable in the lower 50s.

As the cold front nears the region as well as a low pressure system, a few showers will remain in the forecast from Wednesday night through Thursday evening.  A few snowflakes may begin to mix in during the tail end of the system Thursday evening. Thursday's highs will be in the middle and upper 40s.

Friday will be a mostly sunny day with highs returning to the lower 50s.

March will 'end out' near 50F, and April will 'roll in' in the middle 50s.

Temperatures will continue bobbing back and forth between the 40s and 50s throughout the next 7 days.

***Venus and Jupiter are still visible as you look into the western sky after sunset as well as the crescent moon (which is closing in on the first quarter phase).
