Navy Ship Named For JFK On What Would Have Been His 94th Birthday
BOSTON (AP) - Caroline Kennedy and other members of the Kennedy family have marked the anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's birth with the naming of a U.S. Navy ship.
The daughter of the 35th president joined Navy Secretary Ray Mabus on Sunday at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. Sunday is the 94th anniversary of JFK's birth.

The celebration included remarks by Caroline Kennedy and others, a video presentation of a 1963 speech by President Kennedy to the Naval Academy and the naming of the second ship in honor of Kennedy who served as a lieutenant in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II.
Caroline Kennedy said that as a child she practiced with a bowling pin before breaking a champagne bottle christening the first ship named for her father in 1967.
