Nature Made Recalls Vitamins For Possible Salmonella, Staph Contamination

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (CBS) – Some Nature Made vitamins, including adult gummies and tablets, are being recalled because they could be contaminated with dangerous bacteria.

The recalled vitamins, manufactured by Pharmavite, were not properly tested for Salmonella or Staphylococcus aureus. Nature Made Adult Gummies Multi, Adult Gummies Multi + Omega-3, Adult Gummies Multi for Her plus Omega-3s and Super B Complex w/C & Folic Acid Tablets are all impacted by the recall.

"We are initiating this recall out of an abundance of caution to protect public health," Pharmavite said in a statement.

Salmonella can cause sometimes serious or fatal infections, while staph can lead to food poisoning.
