Nathan Horton 'Day-To-Day,' According To Claude Julien
BOSTON (CBS) -- The triple-overtime loss for the Bruins was difficult to swallow on its own, but the potential loss of Nathan Horton for an extended period of time loomed even larger for Boston.
Whether Horton, who left Game 1 in overtime and did not return due to an apparent injury, returns for Game 2 on Saturday is still unknown, as head coach Claude Julien said Thursday afternoon that the right winger is considered day-to-day.
As for Horton's status for Game 2, Julien said he has his fingers crossed and that "hopefully" the Bruins won't be without No. 18.
Horton left Game 1 midway through the first overtime after shoving Niklas Hjalmarsson in front of the Chicago net, seemingly favoring his right shoulder. He skated off the ice during the Bruins' power play and did not return.
After the game, Julien provided no update, saying the team's medical staff hadn't yet completed their evaluation.
With an assist and a plus-1 rating in Game 1, Horton recorded his 19th point of the postseason and improved his rating to an NHL-best plus-22.
