N.H. Movie Theater Has New Moving Seats
LONDONDERRY, N.H. (CBS) -- At the O'Neil Cinema in Londonderry N.H. the new Harry Potter movie shakes, rattles and rolls the seats.
"It's awesome!" moviegoer Ashley Leduc said.
O'Neil Cinemas just installed their new edge-of-your-seat technology called Dbox Motion Seats. The seats are programmed to shake, pivot and swivel during the action scenes.
"It's different because you move around instead of staying there and makes you feel in the movie," moviegoer Timmy O'Neil said.
There are around 30 motion seat theatres in the country. The O'Neil Cinemas is the only one in the northeast to have them. They unveiled their new intense thrill ride during the new Harry Potter film.
"It was pretty intense during all the action scenes," moviegoer Jim Hoppe said.
The seats have adjustment buttons in order to control the level of intensity.
"I went sideways, it rumbled and I went back and forth," Leduc said.
The idea is to make people feel they are apart of the film.
The seats cost an additional $8, but those who experienced it say it's worth it the money.
The fancy new seats have to be reserved in advance, but the good news is that people don't have to worry about standing in long lines. Instead you can just sit back and enjoy the thrill ride.
