Muggy Air on the Move...

What a day!  For sure a top 10 this Summer...the high was 84 just after the noon hour but temps fell back into the upper 70s near the coast due to the seabreeze.  Humidity was a non-factor as dewpoints stayed mostly in the 50s...that's about to change.  Already, that marine air flowing in with the seabreeze has added some moisture to the air...dewpoints are around 60 now and on their way to near 70 in a few spots over the next 48 hours.

High pressure will slide offshore by tomorrow morning and return flow will pump muggy air into New England.  Along with the muggy air temps will stay warm so the threat for thunderstorms will be rising during the second half of the week as well.  The chances tomorrow will be slim...only around 15%...most if not all activity will be seen in Western New England.  This is partially due to the slightly more moderate SW wind for Eastern MA and also the lack of a trigger here too.

By Friday, the coldfront should be pressing into the region and provide more lift for development...so the chances go up to about 50% for storms in the afternoon.  They will be slow moving storms with soaking downpours.

The front may actually end up washing out over New England on Saturday...with that occurring, lingering moisture and lift will present thunderstorm chances again in the afternoon but much of the day will end up rain-free.  Slim chances for storms will also be around on Sunday as a bit of mid-level troughiness will be hanging around but I still see a very good Summer weekend with a good chunk of sun and warm temps in the 80s as well.
