Motorist Dies In Interstate 495 Rollover Crash In Taunton
TAUNTON (CBS) -- A motorist has died in a rollover crash Saturday night on Interstate 495 in Taunton, the state police said in a prepared statement.
At about 8:15 p.m, troopers were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on I-495 southbound, in the vicinity of Exit 9.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 2003 Honda Odyssey minivan with two occupants rolled over and left the roadway, coming to rest off the highway. Both motorists were ejected from the vehicle. One of the motorists was pronounced dead at the scene and the other sustained a serious leg injury, state police said.
No further information about the crash victims was released Saturday night, pending family notifications.
The facts and circumstances of the crash are under investigation by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and Bristol County State Police Detective Unit.
