Mother, Two Others Arrested In NH Teen Girl's Drug Overdose Death
ROCHESTER, N.H. (CBS/AP) — Police say the death of a 17-year-old girl found in a Rochester motel room was drug-related, and her mother and two others were arrested.
Evangelique "Eve" Tarmey of Rochester was found at the Riviera Motel on Oct. 17.
Police said Thursday a toxicology report said the Spaulding High School student's death was accidental and due to "acute fentanyl intoxication."
Her mother, 41-year-old Jazzmyn Rood, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled drug, endangering the welfare of a child, and reckless conduct.
"The fact that it was the mother of the victim makes it even more disturbing to me," said Rochester Police Chief Mike Allen.
Forty-one-year-old Mark Ross was charged with dispensing a controlled drug with death resulting and other charges. It wasn't immediately known if they had lawyers.
Police later arrested 31-year-old Leslie Aberle in Salisbury, Massachusetts, on a warrant. She was described as an acquaintance.
Tarmey's death marked the eighth fatal overdose in Rochester this year.
"This epidemic really has no boundaries," Allen said.
