Mother and Son Killed In Fitchburg Car Crash
FITCHBURG (CBS) - A two-car collision claimed the lives of a mother and son and hospitalized another person on Sunday morning.
Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. says the collision took place at 10:30 a.m. near Ashby St. and is still under investigation.
Michelle Martens, 36, and Justin Fournier, 16, were killed in the crash.
Wayne F. Patenaude was injured and taken to Leominster Hospital.
According to a release from the DA's office, Martens and Fournier's car crossed into a marked lane and struck Patenaude's truck.
Investigators have not determined whether Martens or Fournier was behind the wheel.
The cause of the crash is also still under investigation.
