More Rain...
That was easily the best day of the week...sunshine, light wind and seasonably mild temps...loved it! Unfortunately, most won't love tomorrow with another round of rain coming in to finish up the work week and start the weekend.
High pressure, that just gave us two amazing days, is shifting east and a warm moist flow out of the south will commence later tonight. Clouds will work in later tonight and they will thicken up by morning. To our west, a large, mature storm system is migrating our way. The core of the storm will travel just north of us but it will send a couple of strong coldfronts through the area over the next couple of days. The first won't come through until tomorrow night but out ahead of it some overrunning rain showers will break out. It won't rain all day tomorrow but these showers will be present off and on most of the day. The heaviest of the showers will be located in Western New England for the first half of the day before working east later in the afternoon and evening guided by the first front. Along that front I expect additional lift to provide some heavy downpours...the timing of these downpours will be late in the evening and night for Eastern MA. Rainfall amounts will push an inch, especially to the west. By Saturday morning, the first front will have passed off the coast...shutting off any rain very early on Saturday morning. In it's wake, the air will dry out behind the front but it won't cool down...in fact, with some developing sunshine temps will shoot up into the 70s...a summer-like day!
A second coldfront will arrive Saturday evening and due to the warmth and a bit of instability, there may be a brief shower or rumble late in the day...other than that much of Saturday will be dry. Following the second front temps will cool quite a bit...in fact we will be closer to 60 on Sunday. The upper level low will be passing just north of us during the day and this will lead to cumulus cloud build ups during the day and a brisk NW wind making Sunday feel pretty chilly.
