More of the Same...

Two day rain totals are very impressive with some towns exceeding 2 inches of rain and while the heavy rain has tapered off there are more showers expected through the next two days.

With the warmfront drapped to our south and basically not moving clouds will be locked in along with occasional showers and drizzle tomorrow.  There is a small chance that parts of SE Mass sneak into some sunshine on the other side of the warmfront and if that occurs strong thunderstorms could develop.

The coldfront will be bearing down on us Saturday and a little midday brightening should occur.  Any sunshine will make an already unstable atmosphere even more unstable and showers and thunderstorms will bubble up in the afternoon...some could be quite strong.

Sunday's the day that Summer returns from this hiatus...sun will be prevalent but and although cumulus will build during the day, most if not all pop-up showers will stay over the higher elevations of New England.
