More Downpours...
After high temperatures just missed 90 degrees, a coldfront is advancing in and feeding off some of the lingering heat. The result is a pretty solid line of showers and thunderstorms. Most of the storms have remained below severe limits but a couple have flared up and are producing damaging wind gusts and hail along with the torrential rain and frequent lightning. These storms will continue to work to the coast through midnight and weaken on their approach.
The front guiding the along will stall near the coast late tonight and provide a pathway for additional moisture to ride up from the south over the weekend. A wave of low pressure will develop along this will also aid in lift during the day tomorrow. The result will be occasional showers and downpours at any point during the day tomorrow and locations closest to the coast stand the highest chance to see the weather.
The low will pass through Saturday night, behind it a push of drier air will successfully shove the front far enough offshore so that the only areas still under its influence will be The Cape and Islands. This means that almost all of Southern New England will miss out on any rain and partly sunny skies will prevail. Unfortunately, showers will still effect the Cape, at least for the first half of the day.
As far as temps go...muggy 70s will be felt tomorrow. With the partial sunshine on Sunday temps will warm to 80 with a little less humidity.
