Monday Hearing Scheduled For Bruins Lucic
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic will have a hearing with NHL head disciplinarian Brendon Shanahan on Monday to talk about his hit from behind on Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo on Saturday.
The hit occurred in the second period of the Bruins 6-0 victory in Philadelphia. Lucic was given a major and ejected for the hit, with Rinaldo immediately getting into a fight with B's forward Nathan Horton after getting up.
After the game, Lucic said the hit was clean.
"I felt like I made every effort to take him out laterally and looked at the video and slow-mo'd it and looked at the point of contact, and there were no numbers. It was all shoulders," Lucic said. "You can see even him, his body rotating because I took him from the right side."
Kalman: Bruins Team To Beat In East
Lucic has already had one hearing with Shanahan this season, after knocked over Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller in November. The Bruins forward was not suspended or fined for that play.
The Bruins host the Montreal Canadiens at the TD Garden Monday night.
