Mom Hopes Suspected Drunk Driver 'Gets What He Deserves'
BOSTON (CBS) - The family of a New Hampshire girl is praying for her recovery after she was hit by a driver who, police say, was drunk.
Six-year old Cloe Adams was riding with her grandfather on his motorcycle when they were hit on Sunday.
WBZ-TV's Karen Anderson reports
According to police, the driver who hit them, 47-year-old Thomas Grenier of Epping, New Hampshire has been in trouble before. He was charged with assault in 1993. He pleaded guilty to drug charges in 2006. Grenier's mother recently took out a restraining order against him.
Cloe has had a blood transfusion and several surgeries on her leg at Children's Hospital Boston.
On Thursday, she was finally able to leave her hospital bed for the first time since the accident.
Her parents are focused on her recovery, but they're doing anything they can to prevent this from happening again.
"I hope he gets what he deserves. I hope he feels it was worth his good time to hurt my baby. I really hope it was worth it for him. And I hope he gets what he deserves," said Cloe's mom, Liz Adams.
