Missing Northboro Hiker Found Safe Near New York-Mass. Border
BOSTON (CBS/AP) – A hiker from Northboro who had been missing since Monday was found safe early Wednesday morning.
Kyle Pember, 28, was reported missing after he was last seen by his father at about 3 p.m. on the Massachusetts side of the New York state line near Bash Bish Falls.
The falls are in Copake, 40 miles southeast of Albany.
A search by air and ground failed to find him by early Tuesday evening and the search was temporarily suspended.
But Pember was able to call 911 from his cell phone early Wednesday and a search team found him just before 7 a.m. on the New York side of Mt. Washington.
He was taken to the hospital to be treated for "possible mild hypothermia," State police said.
