Missing College Student From Mashpee Found Dead In Arizona
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona authorities say a New York college student missing since January has been found dead in a wrecked vehicle south of Flagstaff.
A Department of Public Safety spokesman says a white SUV belonging to 21-year-old Jessica Ronhock of Mashpee, Mass., was found Saturday in a ditch off Interstate 17, about 200 yards below a scenic overlook.
DPS Sgt. Stephen Robson said that the crash was over two months old, and that Ronhock was the only person in the vehicle. The agency says it's unclear how the wreck occurred.
Police say Ronhock, an Elmira College student, was reported missing Jan. 19.
She left a note for her roommate Jan. 10 indicating she was going home for a "family emergency." She was later tracked in Chattahoochee, Fla., and her credit cards were used in Baytown, Texas, before they resurfaced in Arizona.
