Minor Flooding...

Very little rain has fallen in the area today so we wait...and wait, for the heavier slug of rain to arrive tomorrow afternoon.  By the time it gets here, it will be a little more progressive than it is right now and therefore flooding is not a huge concern in Eastern Mass as only minor flooding is expected on rivers and streams...similar to Monday's event.

Along with the rain we see some rapid snowmelt...temps will continue to climb overnight topping out tomorrow afternoon in the mid 50s as the southerly low level jet passes overhead.

There is a Flood Watch in place from the NWS for Friday for locations west of Boston, especially west of Springfield.  The rivers out there are likely to see at least  moderate flooding over the next several days.

The cut-off low will spin north of us by Saturday morning taking with it the heavier precip.  Enough lift will be present in the morning for a lingering shower but then intervals of sunshine will work in.  For Sunday, a spoke of energy will spin around that cut-off inducing a midday rain shower on Sunday...otherwise more sun is likely.

Following the weekend, we should see several mainly dry, storm-free days...another opportunity for the rivers to recover!
