Mild Week Continues

When you step outside this morning, you may mistaken it for an early April day as temperatures for the majority of the area are in the middle 40s to middle 50s.  However, there are exceptions.  Some neighborhoods in southern New Hampshire are in the 30s.  It's a murky start with patchy fog and a lot of cloud cover, but fog will lift late this morning and skies will brighten as we head into the afternoon.  Temperatures will not change much throughout the day from their current readings, except for southern NH where temperatures will make their way into the middle 40s.  Winds will be breezy at times from the west-southwest.

Skies will remain partly cloudy tonight.  A dry 'cool' front will swing by early Wednesday morning.  This will send high temperatures back near the 40F degree mark, which is still a few degrees above the average high.  Winds will continue to be breezy from the west.

A storm system will be heading towards New England on Thursday. We will notice clouds thickening as the day progresses. We will have a chance of rain/snow showers (snow farther north and west in VT and northern New England), mainly after midnight.  Then, as a warm front travels northward, temperatures will rise on Friday.  Consequently, the rain/snow mix will switch over to just rain.  However, we need to watch our far north and west suburbs. If the warm front stalls or moves more slowly, we could be dealing with a wintry mix for those areas for the entire event.  The precipiatation will begin to taper off during the early evening hours.  Highs will reach lower/middle 40s north and west to the lower 50s along the Cape/Islands.

This weekend will be cooler as highs remain in the 30s.  Saturday will be mostly sunny and windy with highs in the upper 30s.  On Sunday, we will have to watch the development of a low off the coast. This could provide a couple of inches of snow to the region.
