Skies will become mostly sunny to partly cloudy along with breezy west-northwest winds.

Watch Melissa's forecast:

A 'juicy' storm from the Texas Panhandle will jet northeast. This will be bring clouds to the region on Thursday afternoon.

The clouds will become productive as we head into Thursday evening and night.

Due to temperatures hovering in the 30s, the onset of precipitation will most likely be snow, sleet, and freezing rain for interior locales while the coast should be rain for the entire event.

The warm front will continue to push northward which will assist in the switchover to rain throughout Friday morning.

It could be a tricky morning commute for neighborhoods northwest of Boston due to the wintry mix.

The rain will head offshore by midday Friday, and skies will begin to clear.

Highs will be in the middle to upper 40s accompanied by breezy conditions.

This weekend will be colder but still not unseasonably cold as we edge our way closer to the beginning of February.

Saturday will be partly cloudy with highs in the lower 40s.

Sunday will be in the middle to upper 30s with a chance of a few snow showers (rain/snow showers near the coastline).

The quiet weather prevails into the tail end of January.

It should be interesting to see what February has in store.

Models are hinting at a similar pattern...short-lived cold spells followed by a day or two of mild temperatures.
